Uninsured & Underinsured Motorist Liability
Pays for the medical costs, lost wages, and injury to a first party's driver and passengers
in the event the first party is injured by a third party who is either uninsured or has less
than adequate coverage to cover the first parties injuries.
Medical payments
Should you find yourself in a serious accident, medical payments coverage pays medical bills
and/or funeral costs if a covered driver and/or accompanying passengers are injured or killed
while in an insured vehicle. This type of auto insurance coverage applies regardless of who's
at fault in an accident. Coverage may also cover policyholders and their family members when
in others' vehicles, or when policyholders and their family members are on foot, sidewalk, alley,
and hit by a car. Covered costs are subject to the limits you choose when you buy your auto
insurance policy.
If you and your regular passengers are fully covered by a health plan, you may not need medical
payments coverage. However, if your health plan requires you to pay a deductible, medical payments
coverage may help pay it. This coverage can also help pay for items not covered by your health plan,
such as dental treatment, professional nursing services, and prostheses. If covering a health deductible
or paying for these additional treatments would be valuable for you, select a medical payments coverage
amount that reflects your needs. In Arizona Medical Payments does not cover lost wages.
Collision
If you're found at fault in an accident, collision coverage will cover expenses needed to repair your
vehicle. Collision coverage is usually the most expensive component of an auto insurance policy,
although it isn't required. Insurance companies might proclaim your car a "total loss" if the repairs exceed
the market value of the car. When this occurs, the insurance company will pay you the actual cash value,
minus the deductible. From there your car is off to an auction where it will be sold for parts or scrap.
Comprehensive
Comprehensive coverage will pay for damages to your vehicle that were not caused by an accident. This
includes fire, vandalism, theft, water, natural disaster, falling objects, explosion, and even animals.
Depending on the damage, the insurance company will pay the cars worth right before the incident. This
is also optional coverage.
Towing & Labor
Covers the tow, jump start, and use of a locksmith to unlock your vehicle. Towing and Labor does not cover
the cost of parts to get your vehicle up and going, just the labor. Towing & Labor only covers vehicles
listed on the policy with coverage selected.
Rental Car
Rental car covers the cost of a rental car in the event your vehicle is disabled due to an accident. Rental
car does not cover the use of a rental car when your car is malfunctioning.
